MONITORS: What Size, Type and Count Are You Using With Sonar X1?

Just a quick poll to see what everybody's using with X1.
I'm about to upgrade my dual monitors (displays) from 19" to ???
I wanna see the WHOLE ProChannel!

What are you guys using and what would you recommend? Size? Brand?

I'm using an NVidia 9600 GT video card on Win7 64 bit.

Anything to stay away from?

Thanks for your input!

19" 1280x1024 here.  NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT 1GB PCI Express Video Card.

I am thinking about a 22' or 24' 1920x1080 monitor if one cheaply exists myself.

Actually you mean "displays". Monitors are speakers.

    I have a 22" widescreen (1650x1080) and a 17" standard which I plan to replace shortly with another 22" (1920x 1080, 1080P) widescreen.

    25" 1920 x 1080 6:9 ratio for Sonar.

MUCH MUCH prefer my 27" 1920 x 1200 that I use for CAD work. the 6:10 ratio is so much nicer.

I have 2 x 24".  My original is a KDS(1920x1200) and just added an ASUS(1920x1080) .  The new one(ASUS) is much brighter and sharper. I am still playing around with the settings to get the ideal set up because of the 2 slightly different sizes.

dual 19'ws...1440x 900 .. the main reason i jumped on X1 on the release date was, you could finally seperate and expand different views to a seperate monitor.

I've been using multiple monitors for years and been able to separate views and display them on different monitors.

The only view that 's been fixed to your main monitor has been the track view which was fixed to SONAR's main screen but even that could be extended across both monitors if you chose.

by the juducious use of X-Ray and and floating other views it was great what could be done. All views except the track view could be floated or tabbed and moved to another screen.

I've got a Dell 2000FP, which is fairly old now, but does 1600*1200.

Getting a decent sized monitor needn't be expensive. It's one of the things that people upgrade willy-nilly, so eBay is chock full of high resolution flat screen monitors.

I paid $350 for my 2 monitors. I'm blown away by their clarity and definition as I wasn't expecting too much at the price. I really just wanted the screen real estate to have a chance of seeing SONAR X1 properly and that I willl have once I let X1 into the studio. Still on laptop test bed at this time. At the very least until X1b is out and the wait proves to have been positive.

    3x Dell 19"@ 1280x1024,

Can see all views comfortably apart from large track counts in Console view and the Control Bar is too large for a single display.

No need to correct the op matey!.A monitor applies to a computer display, just as well as speakers! In fact we can use the term to apply to anything that"monitors" what you're doing or using!     radar monitor, weather monitor station, computer monitor, heart monitor, foldback monitor!  regards!

Re:MONITORS: What Size, Type and Count Are You Using With Sonar X1? 2011/01/08 16:35:31 (permalink)
I have one 24" (Viewsonic VX2433wm @ 1920 x 1080)).  I want to get a second one soon though, especially after X1.  My graphics card is in in my signature.  No problems on either XPsp3 x86 or Win7 x64.  The prices have come down substantially in the last couple years.  I got mine for ~$190 at Fry's about 6 months ago.
