MS GS Wavetable interfering?
SHS 7 xl windows vista Lexicon Lambda asio4all Not sure how to ask, but I'm trying to get ms gs wavetable out of the way. In options midi devices, I select Lexicon for output device. Then I try to insert TTS-1, select First Synth Audio Output and Enable MIDI Output. Then click Edit-Select-All, then click Tracks-Property-Outputs. Then in Track Output window I select MIDI outputs-TTS-1 and Audio Outputs I choose ASIO4all which says-not connected. Also under Options-Audio General, Advanced and Drivers show ASIO4all, it too says ASIO is not connected at playback timing master and at Output Drivers. The ASIO panel says USB Audio Device output Lanbda is unavailable, 'MS GS Wavetable' enabled? Don't know where to go or how to disable it. At one time all this was working properly, don't know what I did to cause this problem! And I not computer saavy. Have been trying for several days to figure this out, any ideas on what to try? Very much appreciate your help!

why are you using ASIO4ALL instead of the native lambda ASIO drivers? I would advise uninstalling ASIO4ALL, then going here: http://www.lexiconpro.com/product.php?id=8#downloads click on the lambdadriverinstall.exe and save it on your hard drive then run it. it will ask you which operating system you're using. then open SHS7XL and you might need to change to WDM driver mode, click APPLY and let the wave profiler run, then change back to ASIO and click APPLY MS GS Wavetable shouldn't be available at all to you using native lexicon ASIO drivers.

Thanks Beagle, Have uninstalled ASIO4all. I now have Lambda checked and showing in Options-MIDI-Inputs & Outputs with Lambda moved to top of Outputs. Options-Audio-General shows Lambda ASIO 1-2 Out at Playback Timing Master and Lambda ASIO 1-2 In/Out at Record Timing Master. Advanced Tab shows Driver mode as ASIO and under Record Latency Adjustment shows device as Lambda ASIO (1 in, 1 out) Drivers tab also shows Lambda ASIO as friendly name for Input and Output Drivers. So, everything appears to be in order. Insert TTS-1 to all Track MIDI Outputs and Lambda to Audio Outputs, there is no sound. When I look back at Track MIDI and Audio Outpurs, they are no longer there. Transport controls will roll but won't stop, pause, fast forward, rewind or RTZ. Looks like things are almost where they should be, but what else am I missing? Sorry I don't understand this area of computers. I do know how to operate MIDI and audio when everything is set up completely. Thanks again for the help :) Alan

ok, maybe SHS or windows lost the lambda temporarily? try just saving, closing SHS and restarting it? if that doesn't work, try going to WDM driver mode and leave it there and see if it works there, but make sure only the lambda is showing up in the stuff you listed above. using WDM driver mode the onboard soundcard will show up as well, so make sure only the lambda is selected in those parameters.

Ok great Beagle, That did it. It's working now in WDM mode. Transport functioning properly too. Thanks so much, Alan

How come you make inserting TTS-1 look so complicated in post #1?? You say you enable MIDI output for TTS-1, but you don't mention of any gear or software using that MIDI-output. Neither do I understand the relevance of "..Then click Edit-Select-All, then click Tracks-Property-Outputs..." in inserting TTS-1. Normally, when I insert TTS-1 I only insert it (choosing First audio output) and no other settings are needed. Maybe HS does it differently from other SONARs?
SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre - Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc. The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

Hi Kalle. Not sure I can give you a good answer, computers continue to overwhelm me. I didn't have to go through all those steps with HS 4 xl, and when I first started using SHS 7 xl, I didn't have to then either, only had to insert TTS-1 (choose First audio output) like you mentioned. But then something happened (probably something I did somewhere inside SHS, don't know what or how) So since then, I looked around and found the answer of Edit-Select-All, Then Tracks-Property-Outputs...it worked, so started doing it that way ever since, until, of course this latest goof I made. :) I do enjoy using SHS for MIDI and audio! But the 'inner functions' of SHS and computers seem to be above what I can comprenhend! :) anyway, hope my answer to your question was at least a little clear. Alan :)
