This is Project5's version of a practical joke. Go to the Options/Audio menu. Look for Playback Bit Depth, and in the Justify section switch it from 32-LSB to 32-MSB (or possibly vice-versa).

Does anyone know why Project5 even has this MSB/LSB setting in audio options? Neither Sonar nor FL Studio allow you to change this setting. (Sonar doesnt even bother to display it) It does get displayed in FL Studio so I'm assuming there is some way of the software figuring out which setting is required. If there is a good reason for being able to change it couldnt Project5 at least default to the correct/most likely setting?

Any chance this could be fixed in the forthcoming update? Yes, I know we'll kind of miss it when its gone.

I use the WDM drivers with my Mackie Onyx 1220. They work much better and are more reliable than the ASIO drivers.

Sonar does have this, it just isn't displayed on the same page as the soundcard selection, it's on another tab (the one where you can choose whether to use POWR dithering etc). As to why P5 always chooses the wrong one, who can say? It should be a case of programming P5 to choose the opposite one to what it does now, although it will remove one of the rites of passage for any new user...a year from now (if it's gone), the older users will reminisce about the good old 'justification setting' days

You're right .... it is there in Sonar. Its on an extra tab that appears if you've started up with WDM drivers (I'm on Sonar4). It does however default to the right setting.

This strange little anomaly is more than made up for by the fact that Project5 allows you to change drivers and driver modes without having to restart the program for the changes to take effect. That is a real pain in Sonar.

I couldn't get the onyx drivers to work worth a darn in WDM, but w/my M-audio gear they work just fine. brzilian, what kind of latency are you experiencing?

    have a good one
