Mackie Blackbird

I was thinking about getting a new interface.  Has anyone tried the Blackbird onyx yet?  I am welcome to any suggestions about
interfaces in that price range..

Input would be appreciated!!

I would not recommend any Mackie device that requires drivers.
I bought the Onyx 400f interface, and it was pretty soon abandoned...
Driver development was slow and stopped with Vista, no win7 or 64-bit.
So my advice is ; stay away from Mackie interfaces.

I completely concur with Per!  (rhyme intended!)

lots of people on the forums have had major issues with mackie drivers on any of their equipment.

mackie = great hardware and crappy drivers.

Negative points from this month's SOS:
    • Doesn't play nicely with some PC Firewire controllers
    • No S/PDIF or MIDI I/O
    • Basic hardware metering

Well Im going to be honest i picked this up recently and had to return it due one of the channels not getting the correct signal level, and then eventually not getting a signal at all.  Also the 1/4" cables I plugged in would get stuck in the blackbird.

So I returned it for a new one...hopefully it was just a fluke becuase other then that it worked really well with sonar.   I can report back if you want when I get the new one.

Also supposedly (according to their website), Mackie just barely created an internal driver development team so hopefully the driver situation will be better.
