Mackie Control Universal and Extenders Mirroring eachother - not seperate like I want

Hi all,

I have Sonar X2 Producer with a MCU Pro and 2 extenders but all 3 units show the same bank of 8 channels.   I have the main control and the 2 extenders setup up to different midi ports of course and i can see and identify all 3 in the sonar software.  I have them assigned to different colors (WAI display) as well.    and if I right click on the WAI color bars beneath the tracks,  i have the option to "move" any of the units to that position.  all 3 are choices so Sonar correctly sees each module as being installed correclty.     BUT,  no matter which unit I choose to move... moves all 3 units to the same bank of 8 channels.  driving me nuts.

Each unit works fine but is a clone of the other and of course, I have triple checked my midi ins and outs to make sure the cloning wasn't occurrng becuase of cabling.

I have them all connected to the main MCU Pro and the MCU pro is in the PC via USB, just as the manual describes to do it.

How the heck do i "assign" a unit to be a particular bank of 8 channels so i can see all 24 at one time across my MCU and extenders?

MANY thanks to anyone who can help.

Pat

Never mind, I finally figured it out.  The help file in Sonar x2 is from an old version of Sonar becuase it says go to VIEW- TOOLBARS which doesn't even exist in Sonar X2.    I finally found the "configure layout" button under the UTILITIES menu.
