Mackie Control Universal: control VST plugins?

Hi folks!

I'm still looking for the right sequencer for me. Unfortunately I couldn't find any Sonar manual on the cakewalk website.
I wonder if it's possible to control VST plugins with a Mackie Control Universal. Could anybody tell me about that? On Steinberg website there a special manual for "Cubase & Mackie Control". Maybe Cakewalk's got one for "Sonar & Mackie Control", too?

Thank you and greetings from Italy!

    Thanks!

I use a Sonar LE version that came with my Edirol PCR-M80 MIDI keyboard. I can user the fader section of my MCU but didn't find out how to control the VST effects. Maybe there's a manual for this anywhere or do I have to use ACT to get that working?

Your using sonae LE. This is only a free trial limited edition software i believe and may not have all the bells and whistles of the regular sonar versions.

    I'll try again:

    Hi!

On Sonar LE I have inserted two VST-Effects in a drum audio track, the "Parametric EQ", and the "FX Compressor Gate". When I press the "PLUG-IN" button on my Mackie Control I see

"Track 1: Drums", Plug-In: "Parametric EQ"

but afterwards I cannot change any parameter of the EQ. ??? And how do I get to the second plug-in, the compressor???

your not getting a responce because this is a sonar studio and producer forum. Probably no one has experience with the LE and a control surface. Have you tried the sonarLE forum.

You're right, but there should be no difference between the versions of Sonar to answer my question. And I've seen that in this forum are more threads than in the others so I thought here I would get an answer earlier...

ok when you are in "plugin" mode on the MCU, you can move through parameters by using the "channel" and "bank" buttons

to move through plugin's you need to hold the "M1" button and use the "channel" buttons!

there is a comple sonar MCU manual. you either press F1 while on the MCU control surface properties page or search up Mackie Control in the main sonar help file!

I have no idea if Sonar LE can use an MC at all. I have never dealt with Sonar LE. If the MC is hooked up and working at all, you must be using the MC dll. That means you have a help file for the MC. You can access it via the MC properties then F1. This has the full manual for the MC and Sonar.
