Mackie MCU Pro Control Surface working with Sonar X3c

Hi all, I have come across the Mackie MCU Pro Control Surface at a great price in Australia, and I was thinking of buying one, I just want to know if anyone on here uses one with Sonar X3c, and if there are any issues I need to know about, so I can way up whether to buy or not.

Thanks in advance. Tones...

Works pretty well overall. Not all of the buttons (like EQ) go to the right place on account of it not being updated for ProChannel but fundamentally it works as it should, faders controlling levels and all that jazz. It seems to have a bit of weirdness when you first start up, in that it'll control things, then stop working (though it'll still show updates from the DAW) and then if you mess with the jog wheel a bit it'll start communicating again and continue to do so without error for the rest of the session.

Thanks for your helpful reply Sycraft. So, when you say it has a bit of weirdness when you start up a session, does it happen at the start of every session?

Seems to be whenever you load up Sonar. I think it is a MIDI issue. Once it does its thing, it is happy after until you reload Sonar. It is no big deal to me. What I do is just mess with it until it stops, then scrub the jog dial back and forth real quick until it works again and then is happy.

I've read elsewhere that a solution is to not use the USB MIDI port, but to get an external MIDI interface and then it is not an issue at all.
