You got such a good deal, you should be able to make a profit, no?

    :)

Well, after hearing this amp, I'd be willing to let my 20 year old Mesa Dual Rectifier Trem-O-Verb that looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor, go in a heartbeat. I'm also trying to sell my lefty Gibson Les Paul Custom Fretless Wonder.

I think between the two of those, I should be able to purchase 3 of these amps. :)

I hooked up to my Mesa tonight ... the new guitar sounded completely different. I have to have that Fender. There's no other option.

Those are great amps if you live in a sound proof bungalow and never gig. Fender tone comes with a price.

Bub the Mesa can create certain sounds that the Fender cannot so if there is any chance you need those type of sounds maybe getting rid of the Mesa is not such a good thing. Unless you run a nice pedal into the Fender though. The Fender is a classic amp for sure.

    Hi Jeff,

I'm wondering if I have a tube going out on my Mesa. I can't get a normal saturation out of it. It's an unpleasant kind of distorted (not in a good way) crunch. Very spongy too unless I run it very clean.

The Fender I tried had this even saturation that was just out of this world sweet, IMO of course. It was that exact hollow body type sound I was longing for.

The Mesa is 20 years old, I wouldn't be surprised if a tube (or two) was going out on it.

    Bub.

@Mike: That's a hell of a collection of amps. Oh, and shame on you for putting cinder blocks on that nice wood floor!

This is one of the rare occasions that a wife might come in handy.

You could either sell her off as a slave to some foreign dignitary or just pimp her out.
That way you get to keep all your toys and have the time to play with them too.

FYI, I just got a slap upside the head and heard some mumbled profanities.
Apparently someone was reading over my shoulder.
I told her with an attitude like that, I wouldn't even be able to trade her for a Fender Champ.
