Make Sonar scan?

How do you make Sonar scan your hardware and sound devices?

Thanks - rev

SONAR discovers hardware automatically. There is a process to profile audio interfaces. This is not necessary when using an ASIO driver. IIRC, in SONAR 8.5 when not running ASIO driver mode there is a button on the Audio Options General Tab to run the Wave Profiler.

I think there is, but only if you are using Windows drivers, not ASIO. If your using ASIO, that button is not available.

If your using Windows drivers, you can go to Preferences/Audio/Driver Settings and under Playback Timing Master you could select None, click apply, then go back to Playback Timing Master and select your audio device and that would reset your settings, but it won't rescan you audio hardware if that's already been done.

I have to do this to get CbB to see my headphones sometimes.

You caught my post in mid-edit. Yes, just like CbB, the Wave Profiler button is hidden when running ASIO driver mode.

I wondered why I could find that option, I'm running a MOTU ASIO driver. My problem is that drivers show up in the list under Options > Audio > Drivers but I can't select them, they're disabled.

How do I get them enabled?

Usually when an ASIO driver is disabled it is because another ASIO driver is selected. To change ASIO drivers all audio input and output selections must be cleared before selecting another driver.

Scook is correct. You must have something selected. Either in the Input or Output section.

Thanks to all for your answers. I wiped the disk in the end and all is well.
