Making bulk changes to CC's

In Sonar X1, is there a way to select controller data and make a bulk change (like lower all values by 25%)? --Neil

Yes. Use the Event Inspector. Not to be confused with the Track Inspector.

In the event inspector you can change any event or events to any value or values.

Specifically for Velocity, there's a very useful Midi plugin called, strangely enough, "Velocity"

I believe you can only access this in Track View AFTER you've selected your Midi notes, but it's extremely powerful and has a whole host of tools that let you manipulate Midi velocities in many different ways

You can find it here : Process Effect > Midi Effects > Cakewalk Fx > Velocity

    Velocity is not a CC.

Is that the same thing as the Event List? If so, I can't figure out how to change more than one item at a time.

Check out this video for info on how to use the Event Inspector...
    http://www.digifreq.com/digifreq/video.asp?ID=7

However, that won't let you edit MIDI controllers. For that, you need to use the Process > Find/Change function found in SONAR's main menu.

The Event List is a very different thing. The Event Inspector is a module in the Control Bar.

The Event Inspector is useful, but as you say, it doesn't allow alterations to controller data. It's not obvious to me how I can reduce CC values by a percentage using the Process > Find/Change command.

    Process > Find/Change
The Process > Find/Change command is an extremely flexible way of manipulating the data
parameters of events. It works something like the search-and-replace function in a word processor
but with scaling rather than simple replacement.
This command uses two event filters. The first event filter lets you set up your search criteria. The
second event filter is used to define the replacement value ranges. When an event satisfies the
search criteria, its parameters are scaled between the search ranges and the replacement ranges.
This permits transposition, inversion, key signature changes, and other operations to be
accomplished with this one simple command.
In the second Event Filter dialog box, the check boxes and value ranges for beats and ticks are
ignored. Only the replacement value ranges for the selected event types are used.
The Process > Find/Change command understands a wild card octave number in the second event
filter to mean, “replace the original note with a different note in the original octave.” Using octave wild
cards for both the search and replacement event filters lets you, for instance, change all E-flats to Enaturals,
preserving the octave of each note.
A few examples will illustrate some of the many uses of the Process > Find/Change command.
These examples apply to the note event type, though the command can be used on any type of
    event.

The above is from page 737 in the Reference manual for X2.

Hmmm. It all sounds kinda familiar. Off to the manual I go.

There might be a CAL script to do this too (I'm not sure)

It is easy enough to scan the CAL directory and see if something looks like a candidate script. I have not run it but C-NTROLR.CAL has the following embedded comment:

;;; This is a CAL program that allows the user to change data for any
;;; controller using addition or subtaction of a fixed amount, a high
;;; and low boundary, or a percentage.
    ;;;
;;; NOTE: This program automatically deletes any consecutive duplicate
;;; controller values that are on the same MIDI channel.

That looks perfect! (I'm still not at my music computer, as its Saturday, and there are pubs to be visited...)
