Making midi sequences more flexible.

Hi, I'm trying to make a drum midi sequence that can be "variable". I use to play my keyboard on ready-made sequences. Up to here there's no problem although the sequence is always, let's say less flexible. Problems begin when the song has a section to play a guitar's solo in real time for example and I need to make that part a bit long or duplicate quantity of measures.
One solution could be, to put a marker in the beginning of that section and return to it si I wanna make that section longer let's say double.
My question is: is there any way to assign one midi note to a keystroke (for example ctrl-page down) in order to control it from my keyboard (master controller)?

Thanks in advance

I don't think so, if I understand what you want to do.
You want to be able to hit a key on the 'board to extend a part so you can record to it?
I'm pretty sure that SONAR can only play what's in the track already. Any alterations in the length would have to be made while it isn't playing/recording.
But, there is Loop Recording, if that's available in LE. With that you can set it to record from/to specified points and either record over the same track or record each take on a new track.
    Welcome to the forum.
