Managing Controller Event Volume Settings

I have SONAR 6 Studio and many of my MIDI setups start with a SysEx message to set my XS7 synth in Pattern mode. For whatever reason this even negates any track volume settings forcing me to insert CC-7 events into event list or use track automation to insert current track volume events. But to adjust these volumes I no longer have the convenience of a console view or even the ability to SEE them no less adjust them in tandem. Is there a way around this or a feature in a newer version or am I just stuck with digging for this and other controller events?
