Mantra Vega - a Prog band to watch?
I only just heard of this band via a scattergram form Dave Kerzner. http://www.mantravega.co.uk/home I have always really liked Heather Findley's voice.

The only song you can apparently listen to (Island) is nice, but certainly not very proggy. The line up looks to have some potential though! I'll have to check back once they've finished their debut album and it's up on YouBoob to listen to.
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

I use to be like that, if I seen a keyboard or Synth I was out of there. Not sure about Prog though, whatever that is, things like Rush and Dream Theater spring to mind when I hear that term. It's all just music to me now days . . .

Hi Craig, if you're interested, if you let the player finish playing Island, the next tune pops up. Or you can click on which song you want to listen to. But they are only snippets, not the full songs... cheers andy

I don't understand their pricing options on that EP of theirs (they call it a "four track single). You can download each track for 99p, but the whole thing costs £4.00, and one of those tracks is a "radio edit." I mean, why would you want a radio edit? Sounds nice anyway... As for prog, I'm not sure, and I don't think it matters anyway. I might keep my eye on these...

I still have not heard, or bought their last album. Not sure that the band is as good with Brandy, now as they were before. I think she's too much of a support player for her husband, and that hurts the over all flow of the band!

Hmm... Didn't know they had a new album out. After I make enough to cover rent I'm pretty sure I'll have to get it!

Brandy has been with them playing the bass for some time. At least 3 or 4 years, and the last 2 albums (now I have to look) have her playing in it. The family band, Silas is the son and playing keyboards, and I think he's only playing the presets, and is not a strong enough player to add anything to the band, but he's had a good 3 or 4 years now, and might be getting better. All in all, this last album is not even gathering reviews, and I found that sad. The album before, did not have any pieces of music that stood out, like some did on Erpland, or Strangeitude ... their strongest time.

Reminded me more of Fleetwood Mac the Rumour years than being a Prog band.

The only two albums by FM that I like are "Bare Trees" and the album "Penguin". The albums with the over rated witch is not to my tastes at all!

That Flying Colours vid, when the vocals kick in, Would you like to see within my heart? Would you like to be there when I fall apart? I just want to replace "fall apart" with "fart." Sorry. Nice song though... I think I might look into that further

I have just listened to the EP. The other two tracks are a bit Proggier (whatever that is). I get the Fleetwood Mac comparison on Islands. Now i am listening to Mostly Autumns "Dressed in Voices". The Band has got much darker and heavier since Heather left.

Hi, Not really a FM copy for my tastes, but just a nice pop song ... with a typical singer for a pop song. No matter how nice it might be, commercial music is all the same, just about. We need something new.
