Mapping samples to just one note in Rapture 1.2.1.?

I just discovered that Rapture 1.2.1. will not allow mapping a single sample to a single note, or more specifically, to set Lo/Hi fields to the same value within an element. I was trying to load a drum sample into each element, mapped to consecutive notes, and for some reason Rapture will not allow this, both standalone and as plugin. I even tried to cheat creating a .sfz file, but this will not work, either.

Any ideas?

i have not tried it but the sfz ‘key=' opcode sets lowkey, hikey and pitch_keycenter to the same value.

Sure it does, but Rapture will not swallow it.

Ummm....that works, and so do the single sample .sfz files that I created last night. What it does not work is just trying to load directly the sample to the element, Lo and Hi key values cannot be set equal...It looks like last night I tried first to load the raw samples setting Lo and Hi keys to the same value, and since that cannot be done I  then tried to load the .sfz, but I did not realize that even those fields could not yet be set equal it actually worked that way. It was too late at night

Well thanks a lot for your help, problem solved, though it does not look right having to create an .sfz to map a single sample  to a single key instead of being able to do. it directly with the Lo/Hi Key fields in the Element window.

That's strange... what format of Rapture are you using? DXi? VSTi?  Lo/Hi Key settings are working for me.

What if you load any of the programs from "05 - Splits" those all rely on Lo/Hi Key.

VSTi, but I must make clear that the only problem with the Lo/Hi key field here is trying to assign the sample to a single note. To be more precise what I was trying to do was assigning a series of drum samples to Element 1, notes 39 to 70, Element 2 a single Kick drum sample to note 36, a Sidestick to note 37 in Element 3 and a Snare  to note 38 in Element 4. The obvious idea is being able to tweak kick and snare independently while using a single midi chanel. I use to use Kontakt for this, but I was trying to test Rapture for creating simple electronic drum patches.

So, I created an .sfz file for Element 1, and no problems there, each sample sounded where it should. Then I dropped a kick wav sample into Element 2, but when I tried to limit its key range to just note 36 (Lo/Hi key 36 36 in the Rapture Element window) I found that this is not posible, Rapture will only accept as the smallest key range Lo/Hi Key 36 37. The workaround is what rabeach said, creating an .sfz file to map that single sample and load it into the element. Rapture will still refuse to limit its range to a single note in the Lo/Hi Key fields but at least it will only sound at the midi note assigned in the .sfz file, and not at the next, too.
