Re:Mapping samples to just one note in Rapture 1.2.1.?
VSTi, but I must make clear that the only problem with the Lo/Hi key field here is trying to assign the sample to a single note. To be more precise what I was trying to do was assigning a series of drum samples to Element 1, notes 39 to 70, Element 2 a single Kick drum sample to note 36, a Sidestick to note 37 in Element 3 and a Snare to note 38 in Element 4. The obvious idea is being able to tweak kick and snare independently while using a single midi chanel. I use to use Kontakt for this, but I was trying to test Rapture for creating simple electronic drum patches.
So, I created an .sfz file for Element 1, and no problems there, each sample sounded where it should. Then I dropped a kick wav sample into Element 2, but when I tried to limit its key range to just note 36 (Lo/Hi key 36 36 in the Rapture Element window) I found that this is not posible, Rapture will only accept as the smallest key range Lo/Hi Key 36 37. The workaround is what rabeach said, creating an .sfz file to map that single sample and load it into the element. Rapture will still refuse to limit its range to a single note in the Lo/Hi Key fields but at least it will only sound at the midi note assigned in the .sfz file, and not at the next, too.
