Maschine 1.6 and automating

In Maschine 1.6 it seems they redid the way the marco filters work. In 1.5 if I wanted to to automate a maschine efx all I had to do was right click add macro control 1 then go to sonar's edit filter and select marco 1 and edit.. Now it seems its changed , You now must use the macro sections via groups in machine, and then use Midi CC numbers. , I am able to automate somewhat only with the knobs, but I dont see the automation Lines being drawn anywhere.. Not very logical anymore at all. I must be doing something seriously wrong , Any help advice/videos ect.. will be helpfull. Thanks John
