Massive Complicated Convoluted Construction Task Undertaken

Off to put this together in the lad's bedroom now.

I'll report back (assuming I still have fingers) as soon as it's finished...

    Thanks Old

Yes Mike, I have the goggles, the flourescent jacket, steel-capped boots, a safety net, a St John's Ambulance crew on standby, lots of traffic cones diverting traffic on every major road in Worcester around the construction site, some flares and a bar of Kendall Mint Cake

Phase 1 is complete - I've just checked there are no parts missing and thankfully all 32,963,936 are in the box, including the tools (an Allen Key that will fall in half if you look at it and a spanner from a 1930's Meccano set).

Oh man...Steve that takes me back a few years to a Christmas 'surprise' present for my daughter (then about 9). I redecorated her bedroom and set to work on Christmas Eve building one of those, exactly like the pic. 6 hours later I realised I'd put it together back to front and had to start again. Finished it about 2am Christmas morning

I was just interviewed by some paparazzi from the future regarding what they referred to as "The 17th Wonder of the World, Strummy's Bunk Bed".  Specifically, they were looking for verification of some of the construction details.  According to their information, there was some difficulty leveling the bed.  They wanted to know if it was true that Strummy solved the problem by wedging one of his servants under one of the legs of the bed as a shim.  I, of course, told them that there was no truth to this ugly rumor whatsover.  I told them there was no way our Sir Strummy would ever do such a thing to another human being.  I told them that, being such a sensitive and caring soul, such an act would be totally against his character.

I told them he used a kitten instead.

I built one similar to that when my boy was about 10.  and I pulled everything out of his room and painted his room and put new curtains and a throw rug in, too.

of course, he outgrew the bed by the time he was 13...
