Master Bus

I have x2 on my latest computer. x1 on my previous computer which set up side by side. In x2 when I'm adding an effect for mastering, I'm using the Vintage Channel VC64. It's a great effect that I've put on the master track for overall eq/compressing. When I play back I can see the master level in the inspector, all's good with x2. So I wanted to add the VC64 effect on a few songs which I recorded with x1. I thought I'd do it on the x1 computer and when I added the VC64 (or any other effect) I can't see the levels in inspector view or hear any effect change when turned on/off, so I get the sense that something isn't routing properly. Tried a few things, even opened a song with x2 (that works fine with the VC64) and compared them side by side to see if something was different but it seems that it's exactly the same setup. So then I transferred the song from x1 to the newer x2 computer thinking that might solve the problem but the exact same thing is happening and I don't get a signal or any level to the master bus with those songs I recorded in x1. I can hear the song and adjust everything else in the tracks, just can't get the signal to the master bus to add effects. (Master under the tracks view where Metronome is also) Anyone else had this problem? Suggestions?

    Hi,
    are you migrating this songs from a 32 bit (X1)to a 64 bit (X2 ) system ?

If so, just bounce the tracks in the 32 bit (X!) system and import into a new project of the new system (64 Bit,X2).
or simply finish the mixing on the old system and start the mastering in a new project.
    I recommend to first
1.finish the mixing and then mastering every song in a new project ( eventually use other software like Adobe audition, wavelab aso)
    makes things much easier.
    2. to not insert any effect into the master bus during the mixing process cause this falsifieds the mixing.

    have fun

Thanks Pragi, You've helped with your suggestion. Problem solved. I did import songs from x1 to a new project in x2, tweaked a few ideas and I've accomplished what I was trying to do. The forum has helped me out as usual.
