Mastered Audio - Text Tags SOLVED!

Hi all.

We've had our album mastered and I'm having problems getting the text tags to work.  We used Massive Mastering and John supplied us with a DDP file that contains all the song/artist info as well as the audio files, (this is the standard format for this from what I am told).  He also includes a little app that allows you to listen, burn a CD, mp3's etc.   The problem is that when I burn a CD the text tags don't make it onto the CD.

After much experimentation I think I have it narrowed down to either my CD/DVD writer or something wrong/missing in Windows XP.  XP is service pack 3 and my writer is a Plextor PX-880SA, (firmware ver. 1.13).

John has burned a CD on his end and it works fine so the problem has to be on my end.  I have successfully burned CD's from 'test master' mp3's although I understand that those tags are different.  I've also tried CDBurnerXP and Nero 7 and I get the same results, no tags.

Much of what I find on the net about this problem is very dated.  Any help, insight or suggestions on this matter would be greatly appreciated.  TIA

(If this post needs to be in different forum. please move it, thanks).

Paul

FYI, much of this project was recorded using Sonar 8PE and 8.5PE.

If I understand correctly, CD-Text has to be turned on as an option in your burning software for the tags to be burned onto the cd.

Yep.  I have it checked.  Thanks Jerome.

Thanks Jerome.   Yeah, I saw that one and the PX-880SA does, in fact, write text tags.

Figured it out though.  Turns out Windows Media Player needs a plugin to display the text tags, (other than the ones with mp3's). doooh!  The tags were actually written, WMP just wasn't able to display them.  You learn something new everyday.
