Matching project tempo to pre-recorded MIDI events

Guys,
I know there is a way to do this but I have not been able to figure it out. I recorded a MIDI piano part while playing to a click track. At the end of the song there is a **** as the piece slows and ends. What I'm trying to do is have the project tempo (click) match what was played at the end of the song. Can/how this be done?

thanks in advance,
Rich

Fit Improvisation might do the trick. I think it's under the Process menu.

Use the Set Measure/Beat at Now function of AudioSnap to align as many notes as necessary to the beats in the time ruler that they would have fallen on without the ritard. Sonar will insert the appropriate tempo changes for you.

Edit: In order to do this, it is necessary to set the Now time precisely at the beginning of note events you want to align. I've found the easiest way to do this is to enable the inline PRV, click on the note to select it, and hit F7 to set the Now time at its start.

Yes, Set Measure/Beat at Now is what you need, as brundlefly said.

Let's say we have some phrase half of wich goes at steady tempo 120 bpm and the end of the phraze goes ritenuto.

Firs of all we insert additional tempo point wich is the same as main tempo. We need this tempo event exactly at the moment where rit. part begins.

Now we find downbeat note of the second measure of the ritardando part. This note suppose to be at downbeat of 5th measure but of course it isn't because slowing phrase does not match 120 bpm gridline. Select this note, press F7, press Ctrl+M. In the "Beat" field enter 1 and click OK.

Now select 2nd beat note of 4th measure and do the same, only this time enter "2" in the "Beat" field.

    Same for beat 3

    and 4

Do the same procedure for the rest of the rit. phrase. Finaly Tempo map will change so it reflects exactly how ritenuto was played.
