Math help please!

Sorry guys, but i'm having a hard time answering this simple problem. I tried to refresh my memory on Logarithms, but it seems it has rusted.

Base of Log in:
Left-hand side = x -2
Right-hand side = 7

2 log(x) + 1/2 log (x^2-6x+9) - log (x^2-3x) = log 49

I keep getting x = 2 in the end, but it doesn't work when checked.

Check out my band's song on YouTube!

    Sorry Miggy, I failed Maths.

    This is the only log rhythm I can help with;

    I got this far:

    2 log(x) + 1/2 log (x^2-6x+9) - log (x^2-3x) = log 49

    2 log(x) + 1/2 log (x^2-6x+9) - log (x^2-3x) = 1.6902

    @Mike

    Actually it was log base 7 49, so it's actually 2.
    But i still couldn't solve the LHS.

    I didn't take this class because it wasn't required for Rock n Roll. Wish I had, sometimes.

    Dang those math graders are hard.

    I remember getting a test paper back once where one problem had a big red zero like that and the words, "Right Answer - Totally Wrong Approach".

    Anyway, thanks guys!

    The test was actually scheduled 12 hours i posted this question, and this question was part of the reviewer i have, so i just tried my best to solve it.

    Surprisingly, i answered all the questions for our term finals, and i have a big feeling i aced it. All finals ended awhile ago. Still have to go to school, but at least the tension is gone.
