Matrix question
Hello all. I've been on Sonar since version 7.. but in recent versions I've pretty much ignored many of the "new" features because I dubbed them as "hip hop" or useful for electronic music composers rather than me... I do most rock stuff... Of note, the Matrix. And for some reason.. I was watching a video on it's use on YouTube.. and it occured to me that I could probably make use of it for writing or composing rock music.. even if it's only for "testing" and trying various drum loops in the context of the recorded guitars, bass, keys, etc.... Then I remembered an old feature that Steinberg rolled into Cubase back in SX3... where you could create "sections" of the song and then have it shuffle or change the order to your liking... basically rearrange the song in blocks (recorded audio, midi, etc).. and then when you were happy with it.. it would actually output a new file.... it seems that Matrix would be capable of doing the same thing.. but perhaps on a smaller scale?? Just wondering your thoughts and any stories you might have in using Matrix for rock music (rather than rap, dance, dubstep, etc). Thanks
