Matrix view against the Launchpad

Dear friends, I send greetings from snowy Russia. Yes, and we write music. Well, get straight to the point. Trying in vain to make friends Sonar artist and Novation launchpad mini. I really would like to manage the process of matrix view with this controller. Unfortunately, I do not have a suitable device with a touch screen, and therefore launchpad.

Can someone experienced to help me in this matter?

Are you referring to the Launchpad MIDI pad controller? If so...

You should be able to just right click on the cells or columns in the Matrix View, select MIDI Learn from the drop down menu, hit the pad you want to map it to on the Launchpad and it will be mapped. If you want to remove that Column or Cell from the pad then again right click on the Cell or Column in Matrix View and select MIDI Forget (or whatever it is called) and it will remove the cell/column from the pad on your device.

Thank you, my friends, it's just great! Works! In addition, a simple and intuitive process, I have yet to meet in DAW. But what about the light confirmation? How about it?

@John... I'm actually making a notepad doc for the time codes of the Craig Anderton X1 Advanced vids (because there are no Chapters for it in WMP) and making notes on things as I go so I can reference it all more easily. I watched (and took notes on) the Matrix View tut he did in the first video so it was fresh in my brain noodle. I already kind of knew it would be something like that but since I literally just watched it the answer was less foggy than normal.

However I remember a thread quite a while back now referring to NOT being able to trigger the Matrix VIA MIDI controller until X3. I kind of thought because of that the feature would not be highlighted in those vids but that thread must have been referring to something else (perhaps some kind of automap or something).

Meh. Back to my time code scouring.

What do mean "light confirmation"? That does not seem to translate to English well.

Edit: Nevermind. I think you mean the lights on the Launchpad lighting up to confirm the mapping or something. I do not own that device so I don't know about it's lighting scheme. Check the Launchpad Manual for that kind of thing.

    Cheers.

I mean light support clicking on the launchpad. For example - an advertising image with ableton live (I do not use it, sonar - is everything now):

Events in the program are highlighted on the launchpad. This can be done by standard means of the program? Maybe put a tick in the settings?

In any case, thank you! Over the half-hour, I learned much more than a long search on the internet and conversations with Russian users sonar. Inspiration force be with you!

And yes, Google translator is not perfect ...

    For Serg...

Ah... yes I think I recall what you are referring to. I bought the Korg padKontrol but looked at the Launchpad promos before I did.

I do not think the Sonar Matrix View sends the information that the Launchpad needs to make it's lights work the way you want. I think that probably only works with programs like Ableton or FLStudio that are more designed for live dance music.

I could be wrong and I'm sure others here use the Launchpad so maybe they can help.

    ================================================

To everyone else reading... IIRC the Launchpad has features that will link with a DAW or sequencer so that the pads will light/blink/change color depending on the status of the loop. Like if a loop is playing it will be a solid color and that color may change or do something different if it is a single shot loop or is set to loop continuously. Pads that have been triggered or armed for triggering or whatever might blink and do other stuff.

It essentially let's the user know what is going on with the loops at any given time simply by looking at the pads instead of the DAW/sequencer.

    Cool. Complex... but cool.

The "special features" are pretty much Ableton-only.
