Matrix view

I am new to MV but I think it is going to help me a lot with some projects. I have one question, and it is probably a real rookie question.
Let's say I have a midi clip in a cell.  That clip consists of 3 midi notes, C, E, and G, a C major chord.  Let's also say that the cell is mapped to note Bb2.  Now, when I trigger that cell by striking Bb2, I hear that note, mixed in with the other three, producing a C7, which I do not want.
What am I doing wrong here?
Thanks....

Set that midi channel or simple instrument track input to None (or turn echo off.)
