[May be fixed ] vVocal crashes with cronus.dll somtimes when creating fx region.

Splat and CbB.

I like using vVocal better than melodyne ess.

Sadly, for reasons I cannot find a pattern for vVocal crashes with cronus.dll, sometimes not.
And.. cronus.dll is indeed enabled in the plugin mgr under vsts

**** edit: may be fixed. found both vst version and dx version of cronus.dll enabled in plug mgr. - on a whim I disabled the vst one and created a region, now twice without crashing. - stay tuned.  *****

I also prefer V-Vocal and am getting less crashes with CbB than Splat. I've learned that it's much better to disconnect or freeze all synths in the synth rack. It cuts way down on crashes. I've also found that if I open a V-Vocal and there are no waveforms or pitch lines or anything weird. Just undo the V-vocal region and save and close and reopen Plat. No need to reboot computer.  Everything is always fine after that

Also if you don't already do this, work in small sections, 1-2 bars, after you run V-Vocal choose "bounce to clip". I'd strongly recommend disabling Cronus in Plugin Manger. It also causes crashes.

The dx version crashed on me today while playing the section in the editor so I've disabled the DX one and re-enabled the VST. So far .... so good. Up to the second chorus now

I'm calling it fixed here. I disabled to dx and enabled the vst version of cronus.dll and made it through the whole song.

What does cronus.dll do? For many years I've always heard to disable it.

cronus.dll is a vVocal component (or the component) I believe.

Well, so much for that eureka.
I open up my project tonight and after doing a trivial midi edit I spit off a phrase of backup vox that needed vVocal help and crashed making the region. So when I reopened the file I made a melodyne region instead, did what edits could be done and rendered that. After "initializing" something doing this, I was then able to soldier on with vVocal the rest of the night.

I checked and I find Cronus excluded in my DX FX in Plugin manager. I find no evidence of it at all anywhere else, like as a VST.
