Measure Numbers

Hi All,

I think I know the answer to this but I thought I'd ask anyway. I'm orchestrating an existing musical. I have scores for each instrument. I'm recording the MIDI of the piano parts for each song and then going back and adding all the other instruments using sample libraries. My problem is that there are many places in the score where they must have made cuts at some point, and instead of renumbering all their measure numbers, they just put a little note to advance to a certain measure number. Like measures 1-54 happen normally, then there will be a little box that says "to 63" and it will jump from measure 54 to measure 63. There are also several spots where they have measures 70, 71, 72, 72a, 72b, 72c, 72d, 73, 74, etc. These jumps and letters are making it very difficult to lay this all out.

Is there a way to account for this sort of thing in Sonar? Custom measure numbering? It would also help with pickups.

Thanks!

if you mean, Marker jumping, im not sure there is.
This question might be more for someone that knows of such a thing, However I did put in a request 2 years or so ago for such a feature.

the feature would allow you to be able to play points in the timeline, then jump to different points, almost like a play list within the song. sorry if im going off track here, but if this were me, I might open 2 projects and copy/paste parts from to the other. almost like a scratch pad type of set up. I have done this with great success (using 2 open projects). using one as a content base and the other as the finished product.
