Media Player w/ record button?

Hi, i'm looking for an app that acts like Windows Media Player but has a record button of sorts. I like sonar for recording, but sometimes i just wanna open up a quick mp3 file and maybe layer a track on top of that or maybe record a quick idea and save a wave file. If i make sonar the default app for .mp3 files I would lose interest by the time it loaded the mp3 file onto a track I think.

You might try searching for a program called Audacity. I think it'll do what you're asking.. but I haven't used it in awhile... Free by the way.

Wow, sound recorder loads super quick, awesome. Just wish it could open mp3s

Audacity has a slight delay while it imports mp3 files, though not horrible, I guess i can get used to it. thanks
