Media player for windows

Anyone have recommendations for a free windows media player. (Or, windows/mac.)

All I need is pretty much the standard 'windows media player' that will simply respond to the space bar for start and stop. Any other enhancements and doohickys would also be welcome.

concerned about viruses so I thought I'd ask here as to where to download from.

I've heard some internet chatter about Foobar, VLA, MusicBee.

Also, I'd be interested in one for a Mac that has an EQ?

Thanks

+1 VLC (videolan). It has a very active development community, too.

Thanks guys. Got the VLC. Seems to work fine. Sooooo nice not to have to mouse the play and stop.

I like Pot Player by Daum for video playback https://potplayer.daum.net. For audio I like Mediamonkey.  http://www.mediamonkey.com

Vlc but I also use media monkey.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

BTW, I was inquiring about using this on a PC (and Mac). Not a phone or Pad. Thanks again. I'll look at media monkey.
