Melda - MAutoDynamicEQ - half off at $67 for a couple days
Exhibit 1: http://www.meldaproduction.com/download.phpExhibit 2 (BitFipper's in-depth explanation of why you should care) http://soundbytesmag.net/meldamdynamiceqpart1/There have been various comments of appreciation from the forum for the article above. Here's a short-term opportunity to get the "auto" version of this tool which has some extra bells and whistles. I've heard it applied to tracks and it does impress. Probably Fri through Sunday at this price. I've been waiting for this one to get the discount and am picking it up.
Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Do you maybe have a rare blood type? I have a friend who gets $250 a pop selling his blood. I understand they pay cash, too.

I now go by a strong guideline which is to never, ever, ever, ever buy another compressor. Or EQ for that matter.
However, in this case, as illustrated in prose by Mr. BitFlipper himself, the MDynamicsEQ is pretty special.
So I'm making an exception to my rule and retaking advantage of the sale on this particularly cool tool.

I'm interested, in theory, but in spite of the good quality I've turned my back on Melda because of the CPU consumption. I don't have a new pc in sight, unfortunately.
SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre - Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc. The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

Unfortunately no..or I would. I wonder what the going rate for black market kidneys? This is your fault. Your review created the plugin envy

I was inspired bit Bit's article and bought the non-auto version on sale a week ago. The side-chaining feature to duck a bass from a kick (like compression) is really cool...

James, this version has a few extras. A couple extra bands. But also, very interesting, it has the ability to look at a reference song of your liking, take a snapshot of the EQ of that song by analyzing it. Then you can apply that as an EQ pattern to your song. Ozone has that capability as well, but this is a cool capability when you're thinking about EQing or adding compression to something, that you can have as a starting point something that you think could be a good starting point to work from. I anticipate in one of BitFlipper's upcoming articles on this series of tools that he will explain the nuances of that. Kalle mentioned that the Melda series has a hit on the CPU. I've heard that as well. But I've also picked up that the recent release (8.02) does address related aspects of that and there is less of that concern as a result.

As of version 8, Meldaproduction plugins now use GPU acceleration, like Fabfilter. It makes a big difference, especially when you're using the visual aids such as the analyzer and sonogram. My system is a good test for CPU efficiency, as it's an ancient dual-core that runs out of steam pretty quicly. MDynamicEQ is light enough that I routinely use it on multiple tracks and have no issues. MAutoDynamicEQ is the same, the only difference being the auto-EQ feature, which isn't a real-time function.

That's what I thought - thanks Bit. I have Ozone if I want to do the EQ matching at some point...

Yup, Ozone will do the same thing. So will Har-Bal and Voxengo CurveEQ. Well, mostly, anyway. MAutoDynamicEQ is the only product I know of that combines spectrum matching with dynamic equalization. It's also the only one I've seen that also does complementary spectra, allowing you to create a spectrum that is a mirror image of the reference. My upcoming article will present practical applications for both spectrum matching and spectrum anti-matching, if I can coin a phrase.

At least from Los Angeles it would appear that www.meldaproduction.com is offline at the moment. Not panicking or raising cries of alarm - just mentioning it. Last time this happened they were up the next day.

The downtime was probably because he was editing the page to reflect the new sale items, which change every three days. The current 50% discounts are for MMultibandVibrato (a very cool and fun plugin!), MAutoEqualizer (MAutoDynamicEQ without the dynamics features) and MVocoder (haven't tried it).
