Melda MDynamicEq - Side Chain - Help

How do I carve out a few db's from the Bass guitar at say 84Hz, but have that triggered by the Kick drum?  I wasn't able to make it work with a Send to the Bass track.  I know it's common to put a static filter on the Bass track, but I wan't to try this method, and maybe get a better grasp of Aux tracks and Patch Points.

Do I need two Aux tracks or Patch Points to make this work?  I saw a video about this, but it wasn't clear to me.  In the tutorial the DAW was Ableton.

Thanks.

Right click the band you want to duck. Inside the dialog box click side chain. Then go to you kick drum track and in the send box look for Mdynamiceq.

Okay, thanks.  That's what I did, but the Eq wasn't responding, the Analyzer was unchanged.  If I turn Side Chain 'Off', then that filter is active.  Probably operator error, I'll try it again....

Still no joy.  With the Dynamics section 'On' and Side Chain 'Off' the dynamic meters are reacting.  When I turn Side Chain 'On' the meters are not active and the plugin is not processing.

The symptoms are that of the side-chain signal being silent - i.e., the signal is not getting to the plug-in to begin with.  I thought a Melda plug-in would have an audition feature that let you hear the side-chain signal directly, but I checked the documentation and could not find any mention for such a feature, which is surprising if you are accustomed to how capable these plug-ins are in most areas.  Anybody else know if there's a side-chain audition option that I'm overlooking?

I tried the MDynamicEq in another project and the side chain works fine.  Idk.
