Melodye notes in straight line Splatinum

Hello. Why sometimes I try to open a track to melodyne in sonaplat using region effects they are in a straight line and not on the notes that are sung? Sometimes I get it to work but others especially if I am opening another track just stay in that line.

    There is a good chance you have your Algorithm set to "universal" or "percussive".
     
    Look in the upper left of Melodye and between Edit and Options is Algorithm.  Scroll down that and select "standard"
