Melodyne Converts Audio to MIDI at Wrong Tempo

Hi all,
I'm having an issue that I have not encountered before. I have a solo flute part that I want to convert to MIDI. I've done this a lot with Melodyne-drag the audio clip to a MIDI track and it is converted to MIDI. When I did this it did the conversion but the BPM is way wrong. It's like it converted the notes to play twice as fast. The notes do not line up at all with the audio.

Any idea why this would happen? Thanks for the help!!

I had a similar problem related to audio snap.
Turn off audio snap. Set bpm value in Sonar to whole number. ie: round 122.33 to 122.0

I don't have audio snap engaged, Mike.

Is the tempo set correctly to the project or are you just using the default 120 BPM with audio tracks?
Any other midi tracks or is it only audio?

Yep. 96 bpm, midi, audio and loops in the project. Everything else is good except for this. I'm going to try and see if I can drop a different audio file into the midi track and see if the same thing happens

Just tried it with the bass track and it did the same thing. I've done this a bunch of times with other songs and never encountered this.

Did you get the midi files from someone else and import them or did you record them yourself?
If you get midi files from someone else and they have their daw set to a different tempo this can cause
    problems.

Only thing I can think of is opening the clip in Melodyne and see what algorithm is being used and checking the tempo setting.

Running out of ideas here. The only other time I had trouble with melodyne was when an audio track was recorded at too low of a level. I normalized and bounced to clip, then melodyne was able to convert it.

Well. I came up with a workaround. I went to the audio file for the project and pulled the raw wave for the flute track and imported it into a new project with the same bpm (96) and it converted perfectly. It doesn't solve the problem but at least I can do what I needed to do.
