Melodyne disaster

I made the mistake of downloading the latest version of Melodyne 4. Now when I try to load any existing project, my Sonar Platinum crashes. Fatal error.....c:/program files/common files/celemony/bundles/melodyne/code4.1.0.001. tried removing and downloading Melodyne again but the same thing happens.....any ideas that a rookie computer guy can understand??? Thanks

If you have system restore points enabled, restore your system to the point created with the Melodyne install. That is the cleanest method if you have restore points enabled.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

I don't know if your edition of Melodyne (essential, editor, studio, etc) has the same version number as mine (I have Melodyne Studio), and my latest version number is 4.1.1.011

But even with my version, Melodyne still causes Sonar to crash in certain situations.  Like if I try to render a vocal track with Melodyne as a clip fx, then try to save the project, it will make Sonar Platinum crash.
It doesn't happen all the time, but Melodyne is for sure one of the buggiest plugins I have for Sonar.

This has been an ongoing problem for at least a year, probably a lot longer.  And I keep waiting for Celemony to come out with a version that is much more stable within Sonar.  It HAS gotten better (more stable) but I think it still has a long way to go.   If you haven't done so already, I would definitely contact Celemony customer support, and don't let them tell you it's a problem with Sonar, because it's not.

Welcome BandLab and thank you for giving Cakewalk and Sonar a new lease on life.

Thanks for the replies....I forgot to mention it is ONLY in the existing projects that I used Melodyne that will crash. I will try to restore my computer to a earlier date. Thanks

Before all that; see if you can load the project in safe mode via holding the [Shift] key on open.

    Best Regards,
