Melodyne gives pops and ticks in export

Melodyne seems to do its job fine in Sonar 8.5 but when I export the track I used Melodyne on it has all kinds of ticks and pops... How's that? What should I do to prevent that from happening? And is there a way to 'apply' Melodyne to a track so I can remove the plugin?

Sonar 8.5 PE, Edirol FA-66, Behringer C-1. All instruments in my songs are VSTi's.

    Melodyne likes a slow bounce.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Ah, ok... so instead of exporting the entire song with Melodyne still being active as a plugin, I should bounce the track and NOT use fast bounce and THEN I should export the song. I have around 6 effects on that track: can I nounce it ONLY with Melodyone and keep the rest of the effects editable? Afaik when you bounce all effects are bounced too (or none). BTW I also noticed Melodyne sometimes automatically time corrects stuff... sound nice but not when you don't want that and certainly not when it does it all wrong! Maybe this has to do with the fact that I didn't know about bouncing the track and I am using Melodyne on a complete vocal track right now...? Guess I should edit in small pieces as I did with V-Vocal...?

You can use the apply audio FX in process audio to do what you want. I use it a lot for melodyne quick edits.

Also, be careful of the levels in melodyne.... I had some horrible distortion about a year ago on some peaks...... I looked at the wave... it was full but not clipped..... but in melodyne, actually on the bounce out... it was clipping bad in a few places.... I ended up using the audio tool to reduce the entire track wave level by 3db or so.... the resultant bounce was crystal.

I do use a fast bounce and have not had any sort of trouble..... but using a slow bounce might solve it for you.

I don't want to tempt fate for anyone else but in X2, Melodyne and fast bounce is working for me (in fact it has since X1d)

I made it by only leaving Melodyne active (all other effects off) and then NOT removing the effects when applying them (using process). After that I removed Melodyne and turned the other effects on again. It worked. Even with fast bounce btw: no pops. But Melodyne clearly has to be used on small parts (just like V-Vocal) because I applied it to an entire track and oddly enough at a certain moment the timing was COMPLETELY off... I had to shift the audio around to get things on time... Weird stuff... But it sounds good now without pops and clicks, so thanks all!

In my Dell lappy, I did have to use the "small chunks" method.... I would melodyne one part (verse or chorus) at a time.... occasionally I would tempt the fates and hit the entire track.... and sometimes it worked fine and sometimes it crashed.

In the new (3+ years old now) tower DAW,  I can easily hit the vocal track to any song in it's entirety and edit it without problems. I still click on the "save" button at periodic intervals just out of habit in case something goes off track and glitches ...... It is, after all, running on Windows...
