Melodyne has become useless. Unexpected timing correction since update

When using macro timing correction, if i set the value to a quarter note, I expect each "slice" to move towards the closest quarter note line on the time grid.   Instead, they move in all sorts of direction- sometime they move AWAY from quarter note grid lines that they were already very close to.
It used to be a great time saver, now it's a waste of time.
What happened?!
