Melodyne inserted clips won't play audio
I have started using Melodyne Editor2 on some vocal tracks and though the clips that are Region FX'd yet play the ones that have Melodyne inserted are not playing audio unless I bypass the Region FX. This happened before Foxboro, but I thought it was something else(a failed to load message RE PC2A. Which I've already solved). What are my options? Thanks Michael

Hi. Do you render the Region FX, after editing? Best of luck.

Thanks Ken No. I was going to bounce the clips to verses, etc. It hadn't been an issue till I either... 1. moved the project from X3PE to Platinum(ie an "old project" sort of?) or 2. updated to Everett I suppose I should just start bouncing each clip. Does that remove the Region FX? Michael

Hi. Did you upgrade to Foxboro (or Dorchester), or do you still have an issue with Melodyne clips? Have not been in the studio during last week, due to vacation. Are you using CCC? If so, you could try to update, and just do a rollback, if no improvement. Have not had time to check further. Best of luck.

As I mentioned in the OP, I did use CCC to install Foxboro, though the issues started with Dorchester. All the vocal clips with open Melodyne Region FX are the issue, though these are all older projects from X3PE on my Windows 7 laptop, moved over to the new Windows 8.1 desktop with Platinum. I haven't put Platinum on the laptop, yet.

I've had many weird problems with projects started in X3, (or X2) and then opened in SPlat. Is this your scenario? Once I move the audio tracks into a new SPlat project most of those issues go away. Also I've never left edited Melodyne clips in a project without rendering them so I can't help you there, although there has been much discussion about it. I've had very good luck just rendering each 'Region' as I complete the editing. HTH Paul

Thanks Paul, that is my scenario and I have been leaving verses/choruses(or parts of them) unrendered, so I'll try "the render as I go" approach. Michael

FWIW, I recently took an old Sonar 7 project, opened it in Plat and did some Melodyne editing on a vocal track. I had no issues with unrendered clips not playing, and in fact I was quite surprised how well the old project 'worked' in Platinum. Sounds like you've got one of those random quirky things that just happen! Having said that, the good news is that it sounds like you can narrow it down to a point in time when it started ie the Dorchester update. Maybe you could try rolling back versions to see if the same projects play properly.

Well, Millzy, some of my tracks are Sonar 5 and some are X1, 2 or 3 and not all have issues. The missing tracks now appear, which is very weird and I can live with rendering my Melodyne clips as I go. So I intend to keep going and trust the bakers to sort things out. Michael
