Melodyne not activated but it was? [SOLVED]
I have Melodyne in Splat & Mixcraft 8. In CbB, it says I need to activate this computer but it's already activated. I can deactivate it and reactivate it for CbB, but then will it still work in Splat & MC8? How many DAWs can it be used in on the same computer?

AFAIK the Melodyne license is only to a machine, not any DAW, so every DAW on the same machine can use it (if it supports ARA).
ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

Makes sense. It's already activated on THIS computer and works in the other 2 DAWs no problem, but it's not working in CbB. I get the message "We are taking you to our licensing website." where it says "All your activations are currently in use. To run Melodyne on THIS computer, you have the following options:" - Deactivate another computer in order to activate this one.
- Buy an additional activation from our web shop.
I shouldn't have to deactivate THIS computer to activate THIS computer. EDIT: But I DO and I DID!

You only need to install Melodyne once. The basic version comes bundled with several DAWs. Cake comes bundled with a trial version - don't install that if you already have Melodyne. You can use one install of Melodyne with any DAW on a single machine.
Splat, Win 10 64bit and all sorts of musical odds and sods collected over the years, but still missing a lot of my old analogue stuff I sold off years ago.

I shouldn't have to deactivate THIS computer to activate THIS computer. Do I need to specifically reinstall Melodyne for CbB?
It sounds like you have installed the trial version that comes with Cake or you have installed it more than once in different locations maybe.

Just checked the other DAWs - not activated there either. Maybe installing the CbB update did something to Melodyne so I'm deactivating/reactivating now. This sounds ridiculous: Switch ComputersClick on the “Switch Computers” button below to activate Melodyne on this computer: “ Alien1” and deactivate it on this one: “ Alien1”. Please note that if you do this, you will no longer be able to run Melodyne on “ Alien1”. Will I or Won't I?! THAT is the question! Activation successfulMelodyne has been successfully activated and you can now run it permanently on this computer: “ Alien1” In consequence, Melodyne has now been deactivated, and can therefore no longer be used, on the following computer: “ Alien1”. We hope you will enjoy using the application! So now I CAN use it on this computer. YAY! I just CAN'T use it on this computer.

I guess the following: The name "Alien1" represents not all the information of the computer-fingerprint Melodyne uses to identify it. I had this too. Every firmware-/windows-update can change the fingerprint and your computer is not the same anymore, at least regarding the melodyne-fingerprint ;-) Be careful, if you change the computer-fingerprint too often and deactive/activate it, you will get another error, telling you that you did so and Melodyne can'T be activated anymore. In this case you just have to mail to Melodyne support and they will help you :-) These are the disadvantages of hardware-/dongle-free licensing...

Could have been a Windows update, but I didn't change anything, and was just using Melodyne a while ago.
