Melodyne plugin issues

Hey guys, I just bought a new plugin called "Melodyne Essential" and I read the manual and watched the tutorials, and its working fine except for two things.

1: When I want to use it as a plugin, the manual says it SHOULD be in the audio effects correct? Well its not. Did I miss a step?

2: If I use it in stand alone, I can't edit single tracks of the song I want to edit, I have to edit the whole song as one track. This diffidently isn't right is it?

Thanks for the help again guys! All your help has really kicked me off in my Audio career! Thanks a million!

    1. Make sure you have the melodyne bst installed under cakewalk/vst.... or add it to the vst scan folders. Not sure if you already tried this. On a track just right click the fx bin->audio fx->melodyne (or wherever you installed the vst)
    2. If you want to edit single tracks from a whole project(i.e vocals), export only the (vocals) tracks you want from sonar then import it into melodyne.

    Hope this Helps!

Ok, so if I didn't install it under Cakewalk/vst, then should I re-install it? And how do I find that out?
And I just tried exporting the single track. It played, but the notes didn't pop up like they should, so thats outa the question I guess

no you don't HAVE to reinstall Melodyne. You can just add it to the vst scan folders list in sonar. Go to options menu-> global...->vst plugins tab, then add the folder location of where you installed melodyne. Or if you prefer you CAN reinstall into the cakewalk vst folder. Though it would be faster to just add the folder into the list. I only said reinstall as another way to do it. As for the single track problem.... I would go to melodyne forums and post there.

    Hope this Helps

Use Windows Explorer to find the location of Melodyne. Write that file name down.
In SONAR, click Tools>Plug-in Manager and when the Manager opens, add the Melodyne file location to the list of VSTs to scan, then click the scan button.
I don't understand what you mean by "the notes didn't pop up". Are you working in MIDI? Or did you expect to see notes from an audio track?

Looked at Melodyne and watched a couple videos. Interesting. Now I know what you mean by "the notes didn't pop up" but I don't have a clue why.
