Melodyne time alignment error
When working on a Melodyne clip, the Now Time marker in Melodyne doesn't align with the actual audio data while playing back. It is off about a quarter measure in the project I'm working on. When I stop the playback, the markers go back to aligning (with the Now Time marker in Track View, and with the audio data in Melodyne), but then when I restart playback, goes back to not matching. I purchased the Melodyne Editor upgrade, not using the Essentials that comes with Sonar, don't know if this is a problem with the new Platinum release or not. Is anyone else experiencing this? I recall there being a similar problem with one of the early X3's as far as Melodyne time marker alignment, that was later resolved. I think that was just the marker not aligning with the Now Time all of the time, but as I recall it didn't seem to jump off during playback- it was a consistent time difference.

Hi, Morgan... have you tried it recently? I know Cake has introduced a rapid fix to certain Melodyne issues in CC3 and if this hasn't resolved your issue, you might want to make a trouble ticket to ensure it gets on the fix list. Personally, I haven't used Melodyne even after upgrading to editor... but just thought I'd mentioned they've done a quick fix for some of the issues that have been reported.

Yeah, I'm using it now and it's still occurring. I assume the quick fix would be installed as an upgrade through the Command Center, if there was something newer.

Dumb question - I've not submitted a trouble ticket before, can't figure out how. What's the process?

Try bypassing all FX from control bar and see if that works.

This is a known issue, I logged it in 2013. So I guess it hasn't been fixed. Work around is turn off global FX for the moment you're working in Melodyne.

Turning off Fx appears to resolve it as you all suggest. I noted this problem in X3c or d, but I'm pretty sure the 'e' update had resolved it. "I'm BA-ack!"

Well I'll be... I stand corrected! I went back in X3e and looked and it IS there. I had had my head in a couple of projects for several months that were vocal only, I must've done all my vocal editing before adding any Fx and thought the problem was solved. "I'm still HE-ere!" Anyone know if it's on the docket to be corrected? It'd be nice to be able to leave Fx on while doing the editing. Some things sound radically different without Fx, makes editing by ear a little tough in some cases.

It was reported a good amount of time ago, as I mentioned, I reported myself as well as a few others. This is precisely the reason why I wanted to see the bug fix list, as do some others. Otherwise, we are buying into a next upgraded version base don assuming previous bugs were fixed.
