Memory Park
Hi! Have big problems posting anything here despite using different browsers. Now trying from my computer at work and hoping that my employer won't find out... This song was written after I had cancer surgery which of course was a quite an experience. The situation now seems hopeful which I also hope is notable in this song. The voice is a bit "shaky" though. edit: none of the links worked, here is one that seems reliable: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=465002&songID=11194496

Hi, Sorry to hear about your surgery but I'm glad that everything seems to have gone well. Really nice song. I'm really liking the mix...there are a lot of nice little touches that all come through clearly. Your voice sounds fine to me.

cool song, again different to your more jazzy efforts...some sibilance on the vocals, which are maybe a little dry. the guitar had a touch too much chorus on for me, but loved the overall mix, everything has a good place and it's nice and open. only thing i would do is maybe bring the percussion up a little. the little electronic flourishes work too.

Hi, Very glad that your surgery went well, and this is really a wonderful, emotionally charged song! I missed the first mix, but this sounds really good. Great lyrics, vocals and harmonies, and the musical performances are excellent. The percussion, acoustic guitar and harmony vocals are sort of giving me an early CSNY vibe that I really like. Very nice work, and best wishes for a speedy recovery! Bob

Radio: Isn't something terribly with the CW forum software? Thanks for trying anyway. I put up an alternative link in the first post. Bob: I am very glad to read your words. Thanks a lot. Making this song was sort of therapy for me and this reception is great support. I grew up with CSNY. They are probably down the spine somewhere, as the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel; Cat Stevens and others from that peiod. Thanks again Bob!

I really like this. Great percussion, love the subtle piano, the cool bass and the vocals are well done. Love the change up at 2:45. Smooth guitar solo too. :) Nice job! Glad the surgery went well and I hope you keep improving!

BIABdude: Thanks! I am not too happy with my vocal on this. Tried to give it a modern sound with the synths and there are a bunch of them in Sonar lying around for ages and I wanted to get more bang for the buck . Just kidding. I thought the synths would give this a more atmopheric ambience. Janet: Hello and thanks for your encouraging words! I am doing fine and hope the control i January will be allright. I am glad you liked this tune which is a bit different from others I've done. I trying though to find a better vocalist. Thanks a lot Janet!

Congratulations on getting on the path to a healthier life! I love your song! I am listening to the 2nd mix....All is very clear...the guitar solo is very nice and somewhat haunting. I aree with mgh that the percussion could stand to come up a bit. Thanks for sharing and keep on getting better in your health!

I share some of your feelings of hope myself. I can tell you that a positive attitude can do miracles. Prayer helps, imho. Sounds like you're on a good path, my friend. The song is really nice and melodically beautiful. Hang in there!! Oh, I really liked the lead. I felt some emotion in it.

Hi Mikael, I enjoyed this song very much. Reminded me of Paul Buchanen/The Blue Nile, very nice mood, peaceful and relaxed.

James: Heard of Paul Buchanen but I can't really say I know any songs of his. Have to check it out. Thanks! Steve: Thanks a lot! Glad you liked it! Guitarpima: Thanks mate. Glad you found it working. Made some changes though, especially the lead vocal is still a bit flat.

Wow!! Just got thru listening to this. I really liked it all! Haunting guitar solo too. Beautiful, subtle, acoustic guitar sprinkled thru-out.. Had to download this for future listens. You have a distinct voice that I like. The whole composition is sooo well put together. I was blown away by this! Larry

I'm glad things are getting better - sounds like a scary, stressful situation. A lot of times our best music comes from these times in our lives. There are a lot of components to this but you still manage to keep it sounding sparse and airy which really sets the mood. It's somber but not depressing. The guitar solo was the highlight for me. Well done, and best of luck on your continued recovery!

Hmmm..... this is really strange .......I'm sure I commented on this already, but the evidence suggests otherwise. Can't remember what I said (or thought I said) now, but listening again now it all sounds just fine to me. I really like that synthy sound that cuts through in places. I like the lyric too especially the last verse.
