Merry Christmas 2012 - Rmix 2

I'm doing all of the parts, the bass is my fretless, the keys are Ivory, and the Orchestra is EWQL Gold, and NI.

I did this a few years back but remastered it and editing quite a few things. I think this is a much better mix, but value your opinions.

Merry Christmas!!

At the top, Walkin Round

p.s.;

I'm pretty much done w/RN... I think I'm going to go w/Soundcloud like everyone else. I've been fighting w/RN this eve and I'm a paying cust? (former paying cust...)  I think I'm going to put on some eye shade? And join the parade...

    Funny stuff! Had a hard time hearing some of the vocals, especially the line "walkin' round...."

    Thanks Scotty, I widened the orchestra a bit and put a high pass on it and brightened the vox a little. I think it's better :-)

    Robbie,

    Every year I look for something that gets me in the Xmas spirit. This could be it, right here.

    Before the vocals came in, I was thinking this was a pretty sappy number for Rockin' Robbie to cover...

    Having said all that, the instramental part of this is pretty slick. And the harmonies are real good.

    I enjoyed it.

    Ok, remix2;

    I put an envelope on the horns?

    Pulled back the bells on "straps, like spaghetti..."

    Put a de-esser on the vox; and made them a little less bright.

    These are mine, and others observations. I think it's better :-)

    Excellent production Robby... but I think I'll probably have to pass on the video...

    The harmony arrangement is outstanding, vocals, keys, bass... everything is really well played, and balanced...

    The spoken parts were actually kids that Reece (Beagle) and Janet rounded up and recorded. The interesting thing is? I gave them no information other than, have some kids read some of your favorite verses? I did not specify meter, or length. But it kind of sounds like I did? Things that make you go "Hummmmm..." Almost like something else was helping out there.

    Thanks for listening Lynn! It was a lot of fun to do. I love pieces with big orchestras!!

    And there's a lot of attention to detail in this orchestral piece. I worked hard to copy it expertly?

    In fact? You could say this performance "puts the spurt" in expertly? :-D

    Merry Christmas!

    P.S., I said earlier that I was playing the fretless? That was incorrect, I am playing the Alembic/fretted bass.

    ok those are not the lyrics I remember....hmmmm.  You think you spend a lot of money on cakewalk software well stay away from Victoria's Secret. You can go broke in there walking around in ummmm whatever.

    Too funny. I must confess I did not spend a lot of time listening to the mix. I was to busy laughing. but the song sounded good to me.

    I'd like to hear this tune, but for some reason my computer refuses to play anything on Reverbnation, neither under Chrome nor Firefox. It just says "player did not initialize", which doesn't give much of a diagnostic clue. So yeh, I second the motion to post Rockin' Robby on Soundcloud - and make 'em downloadable, too. Might as well let folks hear them in high fidelity.
