Re:Merry Christmas 2010/12/24 20:21:25 (permalink)
Happy Christmas from me, 2010 has been the roughest ride of our lives so far, I continued my second year out of work, despite working every day looking, and coming second on four demoralising occasions, discovering I had colon cancer in September, one life saving operation then and another in October which lasted 5 / 1/2 hours. Chemotherepy now under way, then the delightful news in December that my partner was made redundant from her well paid job in London.

Yet ..... I remain full of joy and optimism for the future and full of Christmas spirit this beautiful frosty, snow covered night in my little part of England. Why? Well because of my family, my faith and my music. My cakewalk compatriots one and all here on the forum have been a source of extended learning, diversion and fun and I love the time I spend with you all here.

2010 has been a life changing year,  I embrace what the future brings and what can be made of it, Christmas to me signifies not the end of a year, but the rebirth of a new and a more promising future, and in this spirit I wish you and your families one and all a very joyful Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year

Peace, Love and Understanding

Garry

Merry Christmas everybody.
I just got home from working out in the rain.
Rain.. on Christmas Eve.. that's just so wrong. It's not white, it's just wet.
Still, it's much better than the ice storm we had last year on Christmas Eve.
Reece, I'm putting in an order for some proper Colorado snow.
Shipping should be about four weeks

Happy Christmas everyone!

I'm currently roaming the forum while my wife makes cookies and listens to a radio-show of a Christmas tradition reading of a Frederick Forsythe story.  When it's over she'll ask me (again) if we can open some presents tonight (no).
Tomorrow morning we'll get up and make a big greasy breakfast, open some gifts, go for a swim, and quietly enjoy our first Christmas as a married couple.

Life couldn't get any better (unless she's giving me that new keyboard I've been hinting at that's way out of our budget).

You just had to throw that keyboard thing in there didn't you? Do you know what you've done to my Gear Aquisition syndrome?

Really, the new keyboard would be inspiring since I bought myself an Oris "Duke Ellington" tribute model watch today.

Garry, I'm sorry to hear that.  Wow.  I'm very touched by your positive spirit and will pray that you will be somehow rewarded soon for your faith and optimism.  May we all catch a whiff of that and let it carry us through the inevitable bumps in the road.

Merry Christmas again to all my cakewalk friends.  Thanks for encouraging me along the way.

Thank you Janet, We have had a lovely family Christmas day together, and right now at 2:00am in the UK everyone is asleep all around my house except for me , and I find myself full of joy and hope for the future, and proud of the family I have been blessed with and the new generation I have helped create and guide. A very happy Christmas to you and yours too.

Wow, that's a nice one.  I'm nowhere near good enough to justify spending that kind of cash.  And by 'spending' i mean 'putting it on the credit card'.  Real money doesn't exist these days.
I was just hoping for an M-Audio Prokeys 88, or anything that size with proper weighted keys...

Sorry to go off topic, but Matt - the prokeys is good, but I'd also suggest looking at the Casio Privia line.  even the cheapest privia has great key action for a digital.  I used to have a PX-310 which I bought for $500 then I sold it and had regrets that I sold it and bought a PX-3.  but the PX-130 is actually really nice (or you might could find an older PX-120 or PX-110 somewhere, but the 110 has a lot less polyphony than the 120 or 130, so be aware of that).  the sounds aren't the greatest, but they'll do.  but I bought it for the action, not necessarily the sounds.
