Frank, You never cease to amaze this forum with your complexity in arrangements and style. This is just totally awesome all the way through the entire piece. Awesome mix on this as usual. Merry Christmas never had it so good musically!!

Ah, notnat, this is EXACTLY what I needed! My brother and I performed this song at a Christmas party last weekend with me on piano and him on trumpet to rave reviews, and so this song has been stuck in my head- heck, I was singing it to myself before I clicked the link!
I gotta say- the sounds in this are sweet! The strings are a cool effect sound, that guitars are awesome, and overall it has this sweet combination of old-school synth pop, funk, and classic rock. I love the synth lead at the front, too, the solo is really cool and the sound as itself is awesome. This is wonderful. Now I totally want to have had done a Christmas instrumental.

    Merry Christmas!

Frank, super job.  Sounds great.  What a nice way to wake up on Christmas morning!  Mix is perfect but maybe the lead guitar is too soft in the middle.  I like the drum programming a lot.  Synth smokes.

Anyone that's interested, that arrangement is available as a midi file on the web. It's available in several places. Just launch a search for Christmas Jazz midi files and you will eventually find it. I have used that backing track in my Jazz Christmas Guitar concerts over the years and it gets a great response. It is great fun to solo over. Job well done on this version.
