Metronome lag

I'm a new user of Sonar and have never done any recording with computers so this whole situation is brand new to me. I'm getting this problem where I cannot record anything with a metronome because it is not syncing correctly. I'll play along a with the metronome and when i play it back its completely out of time. I'm using Lexicon Omega audio interface, the latency in Sonar is set as low as you can have it. Other then that though I'm clueless as to what it may be. Please if anyone can help me out here I'd really appreciate it! Thank you!

    Sadly, the metronome is one feature of SONAR that has, shall we say, "mixed" results. Recommend "rolling your own" metronome track with some high and low hits, bounce to clip and make a groove clip or use a drum synth like SD2 or RXP(both included with SONAR 7) with a simple pattern. I use an audio track and have a high and low "beep/click" sound that I map in at the appropriate measure point for the first measure. Then I bounce those to a clip. Then I make the clip exactly one measure long and make a groove clip. Now I can slip the edit the thing for the whole length of the tune. The nice thing is that you can create multiple versions of the metronome based on the song(wanna beat 6 over 4? Setup a 6 beat segment and do the same thing then play it along with the 4/4 beats). I route that track to a metronome bus so I can turn on or off the metronome with the mute control.

    I used to create a metronome track a couple versions ago, but with Sonar6 and 7 I am using the on board metronome with no problems whatsoever. It may be that you are triggering a midi metronome rather than the audio click? Try changing to the Audio click. This should avoid any latency issue that may be introduced by triggering midi.

    Hi,
    What version of Sonar, and what's your computer setup?

    Iuse the metronome all the time, and while some do have problems - I don't. So perhaps you just have to configure things right.

    Is it AUDIO or MIDI Metronome?

    IE, exactly how are you setting this up?
