Metronome on Recording, but Not from Speakers

My metronome, all of a sudden, is showing up on my recordings, but not coming out of my speakers. I have Cakewalk Music Creator 2.

And I am fully aware of how to go to OPTIONS-PROJECT-METRONOME.

Please help? Thanks.

what kind of sound card do you have? if it's a sound blaster, turn off the WHAT U HEAR and turn on the MIC or LINE in instead.

I'm having the same problem. More or less, all my play back is getting recorded as well as my line in. I don't have soundblaster card. In fact I have soundcard that is integrated into my MOBO. I'm sure there some simple fix. Will this also get rid of my metronome showing up in my play back?

MC2 will do MIDI metronome only (if I remember correctly). the only way to really solve the problem is to disable the metronome for your recordings and create a click track for your met that you can turn on and off as you wish during recording.

Is that done by just recording a track with only the metronome playing? Does that make to were it only records what's coming in on my line in as oppossed to recording everything that is coming out of my speakers/headphones? Thank you for your patience, I've very new to this thing.

Yes, What U hear will record everything you hear in the speakers, turning it off will record only the line in or the mic in depending on what you have set.

to make a click track, just use the Piano Roll View to add a note on every beat of one measure, you can even make the downbeat a different note than the others, then either copy and paste it into other measures or go to the track view and turn on groove clip looping and drag the end until the end of the song. make sure you set up the track properties so that it will play thru a softsynth of some kind (even you SB card will do).
