This is another great song from you. It has a vintage vibe to it that reminds me of Todd Rundgren's productions from the 70's and 80's. I had a little trouble making out the lyrics, and you always have terrific lyrics, so I would boost the lead vocal, but otherwise it sounds very good. Keep rollin' them out.

lynn thanks for helping me out with this one.... the lyrics are as follows: Michael's house, used to be kind of place, you'd want to be now its got a new friend going to be the place again X3 hehe not very generous with the words. LOL well, this is a demo..... and the back story is, my buddy michael decided to buy a house, in an area that used to be a very fine neighborhood, but over time, it became a ghetto area, a 'crack' neighborhood, but this house was in perfect condition, and had been owned by only one owner and well taken care of. michael decided he wanted to take a step at taking back the neighborhood, and getting some of his friends to also purchase houses in the area (property values were in the crapper, so you could get one of these houses for a song) so, i'll develop the lyrics a bit more. it was intentional not to make the lead vocal super hot or clear... i recorded the vocal thru a SM57 running into an overdriven guitar amp. i like the idea of blending the lyric with the sound of the band, it's more about the angst of the lyric, than having someone sing along with it.. makke appreciate the listen and comments... see the above reply for the vocal track intention.. i will probably stay with the distorted vocal, the purpose of the demo was to see if it worked for me, and it does in this case. so i'll have to spend some time really carving EQ and panning, to get the vocal more clear, while keeping the distorted edge to it i want.

JAMES thanks for listening..... yeah, that's the carvin. that particular sound, is using a boss DS-1 pedal to drive the lead channel of a mesa boogie mark2b thru a closed back cab with a celestion greenback--- so loud it made the neighbor's dog howl. LOL

james, it's hard to beat the sound of a straight up hard driven tube amp with no tricks.

Nice guitar playing there! The vocal can be a bit clearer. Only one part to on this song, maybe try adding a B and a bridge?

hi vicente yes, clearer vocal... check. i recorded that distorted on purpose, running a sm57 thu my overdriven guitar amp. i like the effect, i've just got to dial it in....... and yes, this is just a 'go-by' for idea purposes, i'll do a full blown arrangment with the main riff... thanks for the comments!

i kinda dig the overdriven vocal- seems appropriate for this one- instead of running it through a guitar amp i would run it through like an avalon or neve pre and overdrive the gain there- you can always add more distortion in your DAW blistering guitar solo - most excellent- reminded me a bit of satriani cool track.

Link isn't working? At least for me it's not. Says the page is gone. That's ok, I have the mp3 on this one on my computer. Man, I'm sorry about your friend. I won't go any deeper into this for now. I'll say a prayer for him.
