Mic'ing a Violin ... at the State Fair of Texas Beagle alert

Reece,

I talked to the Killdare's fiddle player.  She doesn't use a mic, which probably confused everyone.  It is an LR Baggs pickup - built into the bridge.  She said she also used some pedals for reverb and EQ - and whatever the sound guy did.

So there you go - I'm not buying the girl I'm using some one - I'll just mic it.  However, the Killdare's fiddle player was a lot cuter.  I should have asked her to help in the future if she's got the time.  Too bad - I didn't.

there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

that's interesting!  I could have sworn there was a mic attached to the side of the violin!  maybe that was the wireless system?

and yes, she is pretty...and when she plays that thing it's pretty hot watching her!
