Mid Mapping

I am not sure if there is a simple solution for this but would appreciate your advice.

If I import a song and check the midi drums in the Piano Roll, everything is mapped correctly. The problem arises if I add an Addictive Drums track and copy the midi data across. What I find is the closed hi hat is mapped an octave lower, the kick drum is mapped a semi tone lower and other components are also mapped generally an octave lower.  Is there any way when copying the midi data across to the Addictive Drums track that it automatically maps correctly? I assume something could be done with a drum map but not sure how to go about that.

Chances are the file uses GM mapped drums. Open the Addictive Drums UI, Click on the ? in the upper right of the AD UI, select "Map Window" and change the Map Preset to GM.

Thank you for the advice, Scook. Would I have to do that prior to each import or would the Map Preset remain in place the next time I used it?

Why not experiment with the setting? It should be easy to check out, create a few test programs, change the setting and see what happens.

I said I answered my own question before I read your response! Sorry. You have answered my question and have certainly saved me from wasting any more time on having to move each instrument in the drum track. Thank you again.
