Midi Automation Envelopes -- Two Questions (New Sonar User)
Greetings; I'm really enjoying Sonar (tried it for the 1st time 10 days ago), but i ran into a couple snags this morning involving midi automation envelopes.
On a two-measure midi clip driving U-He ACE, i set up an automation envelope that yanks around the filter cutoff setting -- so far so good. But when i tried to copy the clip onto other measures, the envelope moved onto the copy, leaving a straight dotted line on the original clip. I imagine i could go back and create a new envelope on the original clip...but i must be doing something wrong. I tried two ways of copying the clip; Ctrl/Smart Tool/Drag and Ctrl C-Ctrl V...in the latter attempt, a dialogue box popped up, but the 'copy automation' checkbox was greyed out. What am i missing?
Also, i had to go back and forth between editing this automation envelope and doing something else that put me in a different mode (can't remember what exactly). Every time i went back to re-edit the automation envelope, i had to go through a long, long list of parameters to get to Filter Cutoff -- ACE has dozens upon dozens of midi automation parameters available, and it sux having to scroll through so many lines to get to Filter Cutoff (which is naturally near the bottom of the list).
Is there a shortcut to get to a particular parameter, or is it possible to customize the list of parameters (i.e. to remove parameters not likely to be used)?
FWIW i find myself taking to Sonar quickly -- previously i used Bloat-base (or Cu-bloat if you wish) -- and while that product has some good midi automation features, i find that midi functions in Sonar totally hold they're own and (after a week and a half of use) i find myself prefering Sonar's overall workflow feel.
Regards
