Midi Channel 1 always echoing

No idea where to look for this, and I've tried the obvious places. I expect the only midi that is echoed out when keyboarded in, is the midi channel to the soft-synth associated to the highlighted track you're sitting on. I get that but I also get midi channel 1 going to the first synth in my rack no matter what what I do or what track I'm on. No idea why. What am I missing? Sonar X2 -rich

Can you please detail your track assignments?

Also, do you have any other input echo on buttons lit on different tracks than the one that is highlighted?

Check the track Inspector (MIDI tab if it's a Simple Instrument track) for that synth. It's likely that Input Echo is forced on (lit blue, but without the "A" indicating it's Auto-echoed by "Always Echo Current MIDI Track" in preferences). If so, just click it off.

Well, I am an idiot:-) Echo was pushed on an old track for some reason. Thanks for your help! -rich
